I had the idea of a global live chat, which was initially seen as a bad idea, but if only s who have been on the site for a certain period of time could participate and toxic individuals could be banned from the chat, it doesn't seem so bad anymore.

This presupposes the s actually resisting the constant whining of s, that inevitably happens when something like this is implemented, and remaining fair.
I think Trim01 (Make an already btw you fuck) had a decent idea that ed s could vote for a comic to be highlighted as a popular one, bying the tagging system and giving the title more weight. Obviously this could be prone to alt-ing, but in that case it could be that there could be a "weight" requirement for a comic to be considered the best and s that are newer/haven't talked much could hold less voting power compared to s that are older and are relatively more active.
And if you wanted to add some unnecessary drama for the sake of it, you could have the people who vote for it be public and watch the dominoes fall from there.
